Taking LSG Sky Chefs to Greater Heights

From Form to Functionality

Tampa International Airport and the city of Tampa were looking to construct an on-site, full-service flight kitchen to prepare and package meals for inflight service. Accomplishing this task required design, interior demolition, renovation, and new interior and exterior construction of the 30,000 square foot space. The client’s goal was to create a fully functioning commercial cooking, packaging, and storage space.

Challenges Met, Expectations Exceeded

LSG Sky Chefs, one of the world’s largest airline catering companies, required a team able to manage the project from start to finish. That team was D-Mar General Contracting and Development. We provided complete design and build services, including 25,000 square feet of demolition, construction of 6,200 square feet of office and cafeteria space, and 14,000 square feet of cooler/freezer spaces. While mid- project changes might be considered a threat to timing, D-Mar stayed focused and completed the job on time and within budget. We were even able to add 5,000 square feet of additional, usable space and the client was thrilled with all aspects of the project.
